That Helpful AI Writing Your Emails Is Making You a Stranger

A colleague forwarded me an email last week and asked: "Does this sound like Mike to you?"

It did not. It sounded like every other AI-written professional email I've read this year — competent, complete, curiously warm, utterly devoid of Mike's characteristic dry wit and habit of burying the important point in the final paragraph.

We had both independently come to the same conclusion: Mike was using AI to write his emails now.
